Through our College Access For All campaign, we brought peer led works shops and panels to life in Samsung’s 837 in the heart of NYC while leading peer to peer mentorship for over ninety young womxn all over the country. You all met up with us in person or tuned in on live to hear from our panelist about barriers to higher education and how to overcome them as well as learn from our leaders in interactive workshops like Breaking Down Language & Spaces, Led by Aubreyne Brizette Tolentino; Your Story, Get Into College, Led by Deja Foxx; and How To Be a Self Care Shawty, Led by Jade Walker In partnership with Blume.
OUR DIGITAL CAMPAIGN
GGG launched the College Mentor Program to be sure we could serve our community members regardless of location! We selected nine community members who represent the diversity of the college experience, from background to educational pursuits they are each unique, and through the instagram chat tool, paired them with a group of 10 high school mentees actively applying to college. Ninety of our high school GGG members now had a space to ask their questions about the applications, get one-on-one support like essay revisions, and a group of like minded peers to support them through the process. We’re so grateful to our mentors for volunteering their time and expertise and proud of our mentees for all they’ve achieved!
